‘Srajan Samvad’ Programme Held at Government Sandipani School in Dhar...



Dhar, 5 September : A “Srajan Samvad” awareness programme was organised at Government Sandipani School in Dhar on Saturday under the directions of Madhya Pradesh Police Headquarters and the guidance of Dhar Superintendent of Police Sachin Sharma.

The programme, conducted with technical support from the Madhya Pradesh Police, School Education Department and UNFPA, aimed to promote legal awareness, responsible citizenship and safety among students, while strengthening communication and trust between the police and society.

During the programme, students were sensitised to important issues including the Indian Constitution, child rights, the Juvenile Justice Act, POCSO Act, Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, road safety, cyber safety and the harmful effects of narcotics.

Students were informed about their fundamental rights and duties and encouraged to respect the Constitution and become responsible citizens. They were also briefed about child protection laws and the steps to be taken in cases of exploitation, violence or other difficulties.

The session on the POCSO Act focused on protecting children from sexual offences, understanding appropriate and inappropriate touch, and informing a trusted adult or the police in case of any untoward incident. Students were also educated about the dangers of child marriage and the legal provisions aimed at preventing it.

Under the road safety session, students were encouraged to follow traffic rules and use helmets and seat belts. The cyber safety session focused on safe use of social media and the internet, avoiding unknown links and never sharing OTPs or passwords with anyone.

Students were also made aware of the physical, mental and social consequences of drug abuse and encouraged to stay away from narcotics and spread awareness about its harmful effects.

Officials answered questions raised by students on various issues and encouraged them to remain aware of their rights and duties, follow the law, adopt safe practices and become responsible citizens.

The programme was attended by Reserve Inspector Purushottam Bishnoi, Traffic Reserve Inspector Premsingh Thakur, Subedar Ravindra Kushwah and Sub-Inspector Akash Hindoliya of Kotwali Police Station.

School Principal Amita Vajpayee and teachers Anisa Khan, Kusum Lashkari, Soni Sharma, Arjun Goswami and Rakesh Mukati, along with other staff members, were also present.

A total of 60 students and seven teachers participated in the programme.
