  DHAR: Dhar district has officially found a place on the railway map of the country, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday virtually flagging off a MEMU train service connecting Tanda Road in Dhar with Pratap Nagar in Vadodara. The new service is part of the Tanda Road new railway line developed under the Chhota Udepur-Dhar rail project. The virtual inauguration was held from Vadodara, while a local programme was organised at Tanda Road railway station in Dhar district to mark the launch. Union Minister of State Savitri Thakur, Alirajpur MLA Nagar Singh Chauhan and other public representatives attended the programme at Tanda Road.   Dhar: A seven-day specialised training programme for young volunteers under the Yuva Aapda Mitra Scheme (YAMS) was conducted in Dhar by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF). The initiative, launched by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), aims to prepare young volunteers to provide immediate assistance during natural and man-made disasters such as floods, earthquakes, fires and other emergencies. During the seven-day programme, participants were trained in search and rescue operations, first aid and fire safety, along with basic disaster response and emergency preparedness skills. The training is intended to develop a trained pool of local volunteers who can assist authorities in relief and rescue operations during emergencies. Two Arrested for Allegedly Running Betting Operation in Tornod...

Dhar, September 3: Police arrested two persons for allegedly operating a betting racket in Tornod village under the jurisdiction of Naogaon police station on Thursday. Ten betting slips and ₹1,510 in cash were seized from their possession. According to police, Superintendent of Police, Dhar, had directed the Naogaon police to take effective action against illegal gambling and betting activities in the area. Acting on a tip-off, a police team raided a spot near the main road at Talai in Tornod village, where Rahul alias Dandi, son of Dashrath Patidar, and his associate Ramesh, son of Lalsingh Bhil, a resident of Pinjaraya under Sadalpur police station, were allegedly accepting money and recording betting numbers. The two suspects were caught at the spot with 10 betting slips and ₹1,510 in cash, which were seized by the police.
